My Eureka Moment, women have now proven that their place is no longer exclusively in the home, she is happily sharing that role with her significate other because a womens talents have improved and their education is centered around earning a living for themselves. Women no longer depend on a man to provide for them. In Gendered Lives Julia T. Wood states "Women perform better at all levels of education and earn more and higher degrees than males do." I know this for sure because I began my educational journey in a catholic school where the class size was small and therefore allowed me to learn the basic skills in math, and reading. Because of the individual attention I received from the nuns, I must confess invented the term obsessive, compulsive disorder I was able to adjust to the high school I attended in which I was a minority. I used my educational experience to recognize the schools climate that was geared toward teachers making the lessons interesting by demonstrating them opposed to just handing the work out without an explanation. I had experienced this behavior in learning institutions in the past. By being exposed to the learning techniques and interacting with the teachers, made me want to participate and then look forward to going to school. By engaging in the subjects with total interest I began to thoroughly enjoy learning.
My parents were Authoritative and believed that education is the key that opens doors to endless possibilities. In order to achieve this I would have to overcome the ethic and gender differences that can sometimes get in the way of progress. Once I conquered my fears I proceeded to my college years. I have enjoyed my college experience to date due to the educational mission of the school, I now have a better understanding of the journey that lead me here.
